"not for canada - australian in disguise" (for-canada)

You know it’s a slow news day when a brand of ketchup is trending nationally on Twitter, and it isn’t even a sponsored hashtag.

Huh. No #NHLPlayoffs?
:)
BmanUltima's car still hasn't been fixed yet, he'll get on it tomorrow, honest.

I do too.
If you don’t prefer Heinz you’re a jerk and I hate your guts.

People are mad about Loblaws. Personally, I think those people should find something better to care about.

This was actually on the news a couple of weeks ago, so it’s surprising the hashtag is still there (or that it just recently started trending).
For those who don’t know, Heinz had a factory here in Ontario, moved their operations elsewhere resulting in job loss for those workers (I think it was 700 jobs), but apparently French’s is now producing ketchup in the same factory. I have no idea if any of those people are back at work at the same factory.
To be honest, whenever I buy ketchup it's whatever's cheapest; usually this is the store brand. I can't tell if Heinz is any better than French's or store-brand stuff - it's all just a load of sugar anyway.

I love that the Ice Caps are trending more than any of the Canadian NHL teams. Though Therrien is the coach of the Canadiens, but still...

Its because French's uses Leamington ONT. tomatos, Heinz used to, but closed a plant in Sarnia (I think), however demand for Heinz is still high, and French's isnt getting bought by consumers so some grocery chains are no longer carrying French's in favor of Heinz which shut down a facility in Canada. Why yes I'm an American who listens to CBC radio 2 in the morning.

Apparently there was also a big uproar today about Loblaws pulling French’s ketchup from their shelves, although they’ve reversed their decision since.
Ketchup is serious business.

Like Sobeys!
The jerks bought Safeway and now they’re plastering Jamie Oliver all over the place, what dickheads.

As do I. I have to say though that Hunt’s is a viable alternative if Heinz is unavailable...

Bah, it’s only slow until the polls start closing. Then... then ... run for the hills. Or Canada, as it were.
